1-Find your wood logs for the right mushroom species.

Get a 4 feet wood log. Hardwood will usually produce more mushrooms than soft wood.
Soak the log in water for 24-48h. This is recommanded but optional.

2-Drilling your wood logs

Make holes in a quincunx pattern 36mm X 9mm to fit plugs in. PLugs are 35mm X 8mm so you can get 10mm drill bit to fit the mushroom plugs in. You can also stuff the hole with extra mycelium in the plugs bag.

3-Waxing your hole to prevent mycelium to dry

Insert the spawn plugs and add wax to seal the holes. Place in a shady spot at a temperature of 15 C-30 C and keep the log wet/humid at all times (especially during the dry season)

4-Harvesting your gourmet mushrooms

Mycelium will colonise the logs and mushrooms will grow within a year or two. You will get two crop per year, one at spring and one at fall.
